Ejercicios de cálculo vectorial
Reducir en el grupo unitario la siguiente forma hermítica
sobre C
3:
\( \phi (v) = x_1 \bar{x}_1 + x_2 \bar{x}_2 - iˇ x_1 \bar{x}_2
+ iˇ x_2 \bar{x}_1\)
- Respuesta del ejemplo 49
Podemos escribir la matriz asociada a la forma dada en el enunciado
como sigue:
\( \Omega = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & -i & 0 \\ i & 1 &
0 \\ 0 & 0 & 0 \end{pmatrix}\)
Y sus valores propios se pueden obtener mediante:
\(\begin{array}{l}
| \Omega - \lambda I | = 0 \Rightarrow - \lambda (1 - \lambda)^2
+ \lambda = \lambda^2 (2 - \lambda) \; \Rightarrow \\
\\
\Rightarrow\; \lambda _1 = \lambda_2 = 0 \; \; ; \; \; \lambda
_3 = 2
\end{array}\)
Estos valores propios coinciden con los valores propios de la
matriz traspuesta que es con la que, en realidad tenemos que operar.
Calculamos los vectores propios asociados a los distintos valores
propios obtenidos . Para \( \lambda = 0 \)
\( \displaystyle \begin{pmatrix} 1 & i & 0 \\ -i &
1 & 0 \\ 0 & 0 & 0 \end{pmatrix} \begin{pmatrix} x
\\ y \\ z \end{pmatrix} = 0 \Rightarrow x +i y = 0 \; ; \; v_1
= (-i, 1, 0) \)
El segundo vector propio estará también asociado al
autovalor \( \lambda = 0\) pero, a la vez, también será
ortogonal a \( v_1 \); por lo tanto, habrá de cumplir:
\( \left. \begin{array}{l} x + iy = 0 \\ \\ ix + y = 0\end{array}\right
\} \; x = y = 0 \; ; \; v_2 = (0, 0, 1) = e_2\)
Por último, el tercero de los vectores propios estará
asociado al valor propio \( \lambda = 2 \) y será ortogonal
a los otros dos. Tenemos:
\( \displaystyle \begin{pmatrix} -1 & i & 0 \\ -i &
-1 & 0 \\ 0 & 0 & -2 \end{pmatrix} \begin{pmatrix}
x \\ y \\ z \end{pmatrix} = 0 \Rightarrow \; v_3 = (i, 1, 0) \)
Los vectores unitarios que obtendremos serán:
\( \displaystyle e_1 = \left(- \frac{i}{\sqrt{2}}, \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}
, 0 \right) \; \; ; \; \; e_2 = \left( 0, 0 , 1 \right) \; \;
; \; \; e_3 = \left( \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}, \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}} ,
0 \right) \)
La matriz de cambio será entonces:
\( P = \displaystyle \begin{pmatrix} - \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}} &
0 & \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}} \\ \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}} & \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}
& 0 \\ 0 & 1 & 0\end{pmatrix} \; \Rightarrow \; P\,
^{-1} = P\,^\ast = \begin{pmatrix} \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}} & \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}
& 0 \\ 0& 0 & 1 \\ - \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}} & \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}
& 0\end{pmatrix} \)
Ya que tenemos:
\( P \, ^\ast \Omega \,^t P = \begin{pmatrix} 0 & 0 &
0 \\ 0 & 0 & 0 \\ 0 & 0 & 2 \end{pmatrix} \Rightarrow
\phi (v) = 2 x_3 \bar{x}_3 = 2 |x_3 |^2 \)
