Ejercicios de continuidad de funciones Sea f una función definida de \(R^2 \rightarrow R\) por:
\( \displaystyle f(x,y) = \frac{xy^3}{x^3 + y^6}\quad si \;
(x,y) \neq (0,0) \; , \; f(0,0) = 0 \)
Demostrar que existe la derivada en el punto (0,0) en la dirección
de cualquier vector \(\vec{v} \; de \; R^2\) y calcularla.
Respuesta al ejercicio 60
Sabemos que la derivada direccional viene dada por:
\(\displaystyle \begin{array}{l}
f'[(0,0), (a,b)] = \lim_{h\rightarrow 0}\frac{f(0,0)+ h(a,b)-f(0,0)}{h}
= \\
\\
\lim_{h\rightarrow 0}\frac{\displaystyle \frac{ha(hb)^3}{(ha)^3+(hb)^6}}{h}
=\lim_{h\rightarrow 0}\frac{\displaystyle\frac{h^4ab^3}{h^3a^3+h^6b^6}}{h}
= \\
\\
= \lim_{h\rightarrow 0}\frac{h^4ab^3}{h^4a^3+h^7b^6} = \lim_{h\rightarrow
0}\frac{ab^3}{a^3+h^3b^6}
\end{array}\)
Podemos suponer aquí dos casos \(a \neq 0\; , \; a =
0 \) , en los que se tiene:
\(\displaystyle \begin{array}{l}
a\neq 0 \Rightarrow \lim_{h\rightarrow 0}\frac{ab^3}{a^3+h^3b^6} = \frac{a·b^3}{a^3}= \frac{b^3}{a^2}\\
\\
\\
a = 0 \Rightarrow f'[(0,0), (0,b)]= \lim_{h\rightarrow 0}\frac{f[(0,0)+h(0,b)]-f(0,0)}{h} = \\
\\
= \lim_{h\rightarrow 0}\frac{f(0,hb)}{h} = 0
\end{array} \)
